Telstra is the totally useless...

I am madder than hell!!! (rant alert)

Yet again for the second time in two weeks I am without a telephone line connection.  Telstra, Australia’s national telco service dropped out last night at 21:45 just as I was finishing a post. I reported the problem immediately only to be threatened by a call centre lady, an ESL who obviously learned English from a computer synthesiser with a cold, that I would be fined AUD125 if the problem was found to be located in my domicile.  This morning I received a NO REPLY text message saying that service would be resumed 19:00hrs Tuesday. The last time they said this it actually happened THREE days later. NO apologies NO credit for the days there when there was no service, NO offer of a free internet connection through my mobile. Telstra are the pitts the most mean spirited corporate entity I know of  and they don’t give a poop about their customers. The sooner they get castrated by the NBN the better…

Don’t  the over paid arrogants that run Telstra realise that it is almost impossible to run any kind of business without an internet connection in this day and age. They certainly know stuff all, absolutely nothing about public relations.

Our telephone lines were laid down in the late fifties and sixties and they have not been maintained replaced or upgraded since, Telstra is one lousy company.  The problem is there is no viable alternative (I have checked this out ad nauseum) until the copper lines are eventually replaced by the fibre optic NBN. I am just praying to the great telco in the cloud that it gets to us before a liberal government scrap it as they have stupidly promised….

Fortunatly I have a library five km away where there is free WIFI and very friendly staff

Update 20:00 hrs: Most surprizingly service was resumed twenty four hours earlier than was forcast, a first in my twenty one years of shoddy service  from the megalith that is Telstra…
