Clearing, looking east in the Darling scarp forest… More on XP2

Clearing looking east about mid day...Leica M2 ƒ/8  Summicron 40mm Ilford XP2 film.

To some extent I am re learning how to use film. As I mentioned in a previous post I haven’t used Ilford XP2 400 film much before. Its a bit inconvenient because I have to take it into Perth to process, this was dropped of 2 weeks ago and not picked up until yesterday there just has been no time or other reason to drive into town. Its a really great film, lovely tonal range nice dense blacks and the finest of fine grains this could almost be digital… I expect this kind of performance from a medium format film but this is 35mm. I’m tempted to buy some XP2 in bulk there seems to be some really good deals on offer at the moment!
