Lilac Rose in the rain…

Its not only the wild flowers that have benefited from the last few days of light showers and one down pour it has brought the roses on in abundence.
I don’t keep a lot of roses just a few to add some glimpces of colour and the occassional plume of perfume to drift into the house on warm evenings…

Freesia alba – hybrid probably Freesia leichtlinii

These fragrant little flowers have naturalized in the Darling ranges of ¬†Western Australia from thier native South Africa and hybridized which has provide us with small variations in colour and pattern. Many regard these flowers as weeds but they are a joy to see every year, even something to look forward to…
